Operating Cash Flow (OCF) is a measure of a company's ability to generate cash from its core business operations. It's derived from the income statement and reflects the cash flow generated or used by a company's day-to-day operational activities. OCF is a key financial metric because it helps businesses assess their liquidity, solvency, and financial health.

Access Operating Cash Flow from Web:

1. Click "Accounting Reports" dropdown then select "Operating Cash Flow"

2. Filter report by "Location" and "Date Period"

The Components of Operating Cash Flow

To fully comprehend OCF in POS accounting, it's crucial to understand its components:

Operating Cash Inflow

  • Cash from Sales - Total amount of payment made from product purchase whether the payment was made from (credit/debit cards, digital wallets, etc.)

  • Interest Income - Total Pay in amount received by Cash Register by Interest Income Category

  • Other Income - Total Pay in amount received by Cash Register by Other Income Category

  • Total Cash Inflow from Operating Activities - Is the sum of Interest Income Other Income

Operating Cash Outflow

  • Cash spent on Inventory - Total Cash Outflow from Cash Register by Cash spent on Inventory Category

  • Cash spent on Payroll - Total Cash Outflow from Cash Register by Salaries and Wages Category

  • Cash spent on Operating Expenses - Total Cash Outflow from Cash Register by Operating Expenses Category

  • Cash paid on Interest Expenses - Total Cash Outflow from Cash Register by Interest Expenses Category

  • Cash paid on Income Tax - Total Cash Outflow from Cash Register by Income Tax Expense Category

  • Total Cash Outflow from Operating Activities - Is the Sum of all Cash Outflow type from Operating Activities

Net Cash Flow from Operations

  • Net Cash Flow from Operations - is the value from [Total Cash Inflow from Operating Activities] - [Total Cash Outflow from Operating Activities]
