Overview
The Inventory Valuation module is a report that shows the current value of your stock.
From this screen you can see, for a chosen location and date, how much your inventory is worth based on the products you have on hand and their costs.
The module is read‑only: it reports on inventory values. Any changes to quantities or prices happen in other parts of the system (such as Items List, Adjust Stock, Purchase Orders, or Transfer Orders).
Key Features
From the module name, route, and how DizLog’s other inventory reports are structured, the Inventory Valuation report provides:
Location‑based view
See the value of inventory for a specific location (for example, a store or warehouse). As‑of date reporting
Filter by a date or date range so you can see the value of stock at a point in time.Line‑by‑line detail
A table of rows, each row representing a product (or similar inventory line), with quantities and value information.Summary at a glance
The report layout follows the pattern of other DizLog reports: filters at the top and a results table below, so you can quickly rerun the report with different filters.
Getting Started
Open the Inventory Valuation module
In the left navigation, click Inventory Management.
Click Inventory Valuation.
Understand the layout
The top of the page contains filters (such as Location and Date).
The bottom of the page contains a table that lists the valuation lines that match your filters.
Check your default filters
When you first open the module, it usually shows a default location and date range.
You can change these to match the period and location you want to review.
How to Use
A. View inventory value for a location
Go to Inventory Management → Inventory Valuation.
In the Location filter at the top of the page, choose the store or warehouse you want to review.
In the Date (or date range) filter:
Choose the date that represents when you want to measure the value (for example, today, end of last month, etc.).
The report refreshes and shows the valuation for that location and date.
In the results table, you can expect to see, for each product line, fields such as:
Product or item name
SKU or code
On‑hand quantity
Cost per unit
Total value for that line
(Exact column names may vary slightly but will follow this pattern of quantity × cost = value.)
B. Compare valuation across different dates
With Location set to the same site, change the Date (or date range) filter:
First, set it to an earlier date (for example, end of last month) and note the totals/values.
Then set it to a later date (for example, today) and run the report again.
Use these two views to understand how your inventory value has changed over time, and which products contributed most to the change.
C. Focus on a group of items
Even though the exact filters depend on your setup, the valuation report follows DizLog’s pattern where you can narrow down results:
Apply your Location and Date filters.
If there is a search or category‑type filter available:
Enter part of a product name or SKU, or
Select a category to see only a subset of your products.
Review the reduced list to focus on the specific items you care about (for example, a particular category or brand).
Connected Modules
Inventory Valuation does not change your data; it reads from other modules to calculate value. The most relevant connected modules are:
Products & Services → Items List
Holds the master list of products, SKUs, and costs used in the valuation.
Inventory Management → Inventory Count
Physical counts lead to adjustments that update the on‑hand quantities used in valuation.
Inventory Management → Adjust Stock
Manual corrections (damage, shrinkage, etc.) change quantities that flow into the valuation report.
Inventory Management → Transfer Orders
Transfers between locations move stock in and out, affecting on‑hand quantities at each location.
Inventory Management → Stock Receive History / Purchase Orders
Receiving goods increases quantities and may update unit costs, which influence total inventory value.
Inventory Management → Inventory History / Inventory Dashboard
These modules show movement and high‑level trends, while Inventory Valuation shows the detailed value at a point in time.
Troubleshooting
“I see no lines in the Inventory Valuation report”
Check the Location filter
Make sure you selected a location that actually holds inventory.Check the Date filter
If the date is too far in the past or future, there may be no data yet.Clear any extra filters (such as product/category search) to ensure you are not accidentally filtering everything out.
“Quantities or values look wrong”
Remember that Inventory Valuation only reports what the system currently knows:
Confirm that Stock Receipts, Transfer Orders, and Adjust Stock entries are up to date.
Check that recent Inventory Counts have been completed and any resulting adjustments have been recorded.
If you recently changed a product’s cost in Items List, re‑run the report with the correct date to make sure you’re looking at the intended snapshot.
“The location or date I need is not available”
For Location:
Confirm that the location has been set up in the system and is allowed for inventory reporting.
For Date:
Some setups only allow valuation on dates where the system has complete transaction history.
Try a nearby date (for example, the last day of the previous month).
By following these steps, you can use the Inventory Valuation module to understand the value of your inventory by location and date, and trace how it is affected by purchases, transfers, stock counts, and adjustments across the rest of your DizLog inventory management modules.
