Inventory Management: Transfer Stocks Across Locations

Transfer stocks between different branches

Updated this week

Managing inventory across different locations can be tricky, but the Dizlog App makes stock transfers simple, transparent, and efficient.

This guide walks you through the three key phases of transferring stocks: creating a transfer order, approving the order, and receiving the order.

1. Creating a Transfer Order

  1. Open the Dizlog app and navigate to Inventory Management.

  2. Tap on Transfer Order – you’ll see a list of current transfer requests.

  3. To create a new order, click Add Transfer Order.

  4. Fill in the required details:

    • Source Location – where the stock will come from

    • Destination Location – where the stock will be transferred

    • Date of Transfer

    • Notes (optional) – for any special instructions

  5. Add the products and their quantities.

  6. Once done, tap Create to generate the order.

⚠️ Note: At this stage, stock adjustments are not yet applied. The quantities remain unchanged until the order is approved.

2. Updating & Approving the Transfer

  1. The Source Location will see the order request.

  2. An authorized person at the source must review and validate the request:

    • Ensure the requested items are available.

    • Use the Edit option if you need to adjust quantities (e.g., if stock is insufficient).

  3. Once everything looks good for delivery, click Approve.

✅ Upon approval:

  • The source location’s stock will be deducted immediately.

  • The destination location’s stock will not yet increase until the order is received

3. Receiving the Order

  1. The Destination Location will see the transfer order request.

  2. An authorized person must review it carefully:

    • Validate received items against the order.

    • Use the Edit option if there’s a shortage or discrepancy.

  3. Once verified, click Receive.

✅ Upon receiving:

  • The destination location’s stock will increase.

  • The transfer is now fully completed and logged.

The stock transfer process in the Dizlog app ensures accuracy, accountability, and traceability across all locations.

By following these three steps — Create, Approve, Receive — you can streamline inventory movement without confusion or manual errors.
