📘 Help Center Article — Using Reorder Points, Recommended Quantities, and Autofill in DizLog
Overview
Keeping stock levels balanced can be tricky — order too late, and you face stockouts; order too much, and you tie up cash in inventory. DizLog helps solve this with Reorder Points (ROP), Recommended Quantities (EOQ), and the Autofill Products feature during Purchase Order (PO) creation.
Reorder Point (ROP) → tells you when to order.
Recommended Quantity (EOQ) → suggests how much to order.
Autofill Products → automatically adds low-stock items to a PO.
Together, they make replenishment smarter, faster, and cost-efficient.
📑 Table of Contents
1. Setting Reorder Points (ROP)
Navigate to: Products & Services → Item List → Edit Item.
In the Locations section, set a Reorder Level.
This is the stock threshold where the system will suggest a reorder.
💡 Example: If daily usage = 10 units, supplier lead time = 7 days, safety stock = 20:
👉 Set Reorder Level = 90.
2. Defining Recommended Quantities (EOQ)
In the same Locations section, enter a Recommended Quantity.
This represents the system’s default suggested order quantity.
💡 Use EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) as a guide:
(D = Annual Demand, S = Ordering Cost, H = Holding Cost).
👉 Example: EOQ = 500 → set Recommended Quantity = 500.
3. Creating a Purchase Order
Navigate to: Inventory Management → Purchase Orders → Add Purchase Order.
Select the Location and Supplier.
Add items manually or use Autofill Products for speed.
4. Using Autofill Products
Click Autofill on the PO screen.
Choose a Supplier.
Set Type = Low on Stock.
Click Autofill.
👉 DizLog will automatically:
Identify all items at or below their Reorder Level.
Suggest the Recommended Quantity for each item.
This eliminates manual checks and speeds up PO creation.
5. Example in Action
Product: Hazelnut
Reorder Level = 1
Recommended Quantity = 1
Current Stock = 1
👉 When creating a PO, clicking Autofill automatically adds Hazelnut with Qty = 1.
6. Best Practices
Regularly review demand, lead times, and safety stock to keep Reorder Levels accurate.
Base Recommended Quantities on EOQ or past sales trends.
Use Autofill for efficiency — especially when managing multiple low-stock items.
Monitor supplier performance (lead times) to refine your ROP settings.
Final Thoughts
By combining Reorder Points, Recommended Quantities, and the Autofill Products feature, DizLog ensures you never run out of stock while avoiding over-ordering. This smart replenishment process saves time, reduces costs, and keeps your inventory accurate.
