When it comes to selling products, you generally have two options:
Selling in bulk or selling by individual pieces. Let's take a look at what each of these approaches means:
Selling in Bulk: Selling in bulk means selling a large quantity of a product as a single unit or package. This approach is often used by wholesalers and suppliers who cater to other businesses or retailers. By purchasing products in bulk, businesses can usually get a lower per-unit cost, allowing for potential savings. The buyers of bulk products may then divide and sell them individually or use them for their own purposes. Examples of bulk selling include cases of beverages, packs of clothing items, or pallets of goods.
Selling by Pieces: Selling by pieces, on the other hand, involves selling products individually or in smaller quantities. This approach is commonly used in retail environments where customers can purchase products according to their specific needs. Selling by pieces allows customers to buy only the quantity they require, which can be convenient for individual consumers or businesses with varying demand. Examples of selling by pieces include selling individual clothing items, electronics, or single units of a product.
To Add New Custom UOM :

Learn how you can sell by pieces when you purchased items via boxes or packs
Choose which App you are using:
Click Inventory/Catalog dropdown list and click Products/Services
Click +Add Items
Enter required infomation on General tab.
You may named the item with ( per piece ) so it will be easy to define when processing in POS.
Select "Location"
Choose which unit you wish to sell from the list of UOM under Sales information tab.
Unit of Measurment: Choose the unit in which your item is being offered.
Purchase Unit of Measurement: Unit of measure used when item was purchased.
if UOM doesn't exist on the UOM dropdown selection, you may also add custom UOM click here to know how to add your custom UOM.
Note : You may now add Purchase Unit of Measurement : Unit of Measurement when item / product purchased from your supplier.
Click Save.
How to Sell in pieces ?
Select the item which has an indicator per piece.
Process as a usual order.
That's it! You are now able to accurately track and sell items/ product you purchased via boxes / bulk and sell it by pieces.
From Homepage tap " Inventory / Catalog "
Tap "+ plus icon "
Tap " Add Item / Service "
