Here's how color and shape selection can be implemented for categories and items:

Updated over a year ago

In a Point of Sale (POS) system, using color and shape selection for categories and products offers a range of valuable features that enhance usability, efficiency, and overall user experience.

DizLog's new feature of selecting shapes and colors for inventory items in a Point of Sale (POS) system is essential for user-friendliness and efficient operations. These choices below can help speed up transactions, and aid in inventory management.

  1. Category Differentiation: Assign a unique color and shape to each product category (e.g., red for electronics, blue for clothing). This makes it easy for users to quickly identify the type of items they're dealing with.

  2. Visual Hierarchy: Use color to establish a visual hierarchy in the catalog. High-priority or popular categories can have more prominent colors, drawing the user's attention.

  3. Intuitive Navigation: When users see familiar colors and shapes associated with categories, they can navigate the catalog more intuitively, reducing the time needed to find items.

  4. Consistency: Maintain consistent color and shape schemes throughout the system. This consistency aids in learning and helps users become comfortable with the interface.

  5. Brand Alignment: If your business has a strong brand identity, use colors and shapes that align with your brand, reinforcing brand recognition.
